The I.C.E. (Intell-a-Changer Electric) Machine from MTC combines with your EBatt System to create a next-generation, fully-automated battery changing system. It provides quick, efficient battery changes with a minimum of human involvement. The I.C.E. Machine eliminates the need for dedicated battery-changing operators, giving you increased control over your batteries, chargers, and lift truck fleet, allowing you to do more with less.

The lift truck driver simply request a reservation for a battery change at a touch screen kiosk and follow the displayed instructions to a parking place. He then readies the vehicle for a battery change by removing the battery restraint device and unplugging the battery from the truck. Once those tasks are completed, the driver moves to a protected area known as the Driver’s Station and on another touch screen commands the robotic battery changer to start.

In Automatic mode, the changer then sounds a warning, flashes a motion indicator light bar, and proceeds to pull the battery from the lift truck, place it the rack to charge, pull the most ready available battery from the rack and place it in the vehicle. Once that is complete, the changer parks itself in a safe location, and the screen at the Driver’s Station notifies the driver that it is safe to return to the lift truck.
